چکیده

Hexagonally ordered mesoporous silica materials MCM-41 and SBA-15 have been synthesized and loaded with Ag nanoparticles, utilizing both chemical synthesis and ultrashort pulsed laser ablation in liquid. In laser ablation, a silver target, immersed in aqueous suspension of ordered mesoporous silica SBA-15, was irradiated by ultra-short laser pulses to generate silver nanoparticles. For comparison samples of similar silver contents were prepared either by incorporating silver into the SBA-15 during a hydrothermal synthesis or by introducing silver in MCM-41 by template ion-exchange. Samples were characterized by XRD, N2 physisorption, TEM and UV-vis spectroscopy. All preparations contained significant amount of 5-50 nm size silver

Preparation and Characterization of ZnO Nanoparticles by Laser Ablation in NaOH Aqueous Solution

In the recent years, laser ablation in liquid has become an increasingly important technique for the fabrication of NPs. this paper reports our recent studies on the generation of ZnO NPs by ablation of metal targets in aqueous environments using Q-switch Nd-YAG laser (λ=532nm) immersed in NaOH (0.1M). The Surface topography studied by atomic force microscopy revealed wider size distributio...

Synthesis of Ag@Silica Nanoparticles by Assisted Laser Ablation

This paper reports the synthesis of silver nanoparticles coated with porous silica (Ag@Silica NPs) using an assisted laser ablation method. This method is a chemical synthesis where one of the reagents (the reducer agent) is introduced in nanometer form by laser ablation of a solid target submerged in an aqueous solution. In a first step, a silicon wafer immersed in water solution was laser abl...

Effect of Organic Stabilizers on Silver Nanoparticles Fabricated by Femtosecond Pulsed Laser Ablation

Laser ablation has several advantages over the chemical synthesis of nanoparticles due to its simplicity and because it is a faster and cleaner process. In this paper, we use femtosecond laser ablation to generate highly concentrated silver colloidal nanoparticle solutions. Those high concentrations usually lead to agglomeration of the nanoparticles, rendering the solution nearly useless. We em...

Pulsed laser ablation of a continuously-fed wire in liquid flow for high-yield production of silver nanoparticles.

Using wires of defined diameters instead of a planar target for pulsed laser ablation in liquid results in significant increase of ablation efficiency and nanoparticle productivity up to a factor of 15. We identified several competitive phenomena based on thermal conductivity, reflectivity and cavitation bubble shape that affect the ablation efficiency when the geometry of the target is changed...
